Hi All,
Here's another selection from my scanned slide collection this time from the 1992 airshow.
This has to be one of the all time classic shows due to the number of eastern bloc aircraft present many not seen in the west before or since!
As usual I start with some arrival shots from outside the airfield.
Turkish AF F16.
Still showing signs of it's Aeroflot colours the TU204 arrives.
YAK 141 Freestyle arrives in an AN124.
And during it's validation.
MiG31 Foxhound lands after it's validation unfortuantely it did not fly during the show proper.
YAK38 Forger during it's validation.
Some shots from outside the airfield of the flying display.
Mil 17.
Mil 34 during it's only flying display I think this was Wednesday.
TU 204 now in it's full Bravia livery.
Mil 26.
Romainian built Puma ....Coastguard? Isn't Romania land locked!
Taxing out on their only flying apperance on the Thursday the YAKS.
YAK141.
YAK38.
Now for the Saturday static.
2 Basler Jet prop converted DC3s.
A special Ops Metro 23.
Icarus powered hang glider.
BO105 one of the best colour schemes from this year.
IAR 99 Soim.
Some of the Russian Static.
Su24 Fencer.
Ka50 Hokum.
Su28UB Frogfoot.
The upgraded Su34 Frogfoot this also validated but did not take part during the show.
Il78 Midas.
And now to the flying display.
JAS 39 Gripen on it's first appearence at a SBAC.
Another show debutant the A340.
AMX T.
New from the UK the Jetstream 41.
Mirage 2000.
A pair of Tucanos the demonstrator in red and a Kuwaiti export example.
Lufthansa CRJ.
Actually from the Ukraine the An72 Coaler.
Su29 put on a memorable aerobatic display.
And the undoubted star of the show which only appeared in the Saturday flying display...
TU22 Backfire my ears start to hurt just looking at this picture!!
Definately a year to remember.
Cheers for looking
