The Swan, Farnborough Road, Farnborough
The freehold of The Swan public house in Farnborough was acquired by TAG some time ago and they agreed to continue the existing lease which enabled the leaseholder to no longer have to trade as a tied house but be able to purchase from any brewery.
However, just over a week ago TAG agreed to accept the surrender of the lease and have taken over control of the The Swan. The premises are now in need of substantial renovation and will remain closed for some time while the works, commissioned by TAG, are carried out.
TAG have made absolutely clear to the council that their intention is to re-open the premises as a pub selling food - so the town is definitely not about to lose a landmark public house.
For security while the works are commissioned and then carried out, the site will be secured with metal fencing.
