Does anybody know if these changes are to be incorporated with the proposed TMA changes or has that seed fallen upon stony ground ?

Don't know about any proposed LTMA changes but the Heathrow CTR will change classification from class A airspace (IFR only) to class D airspace (IFR and VFR flight permitted) in Sept 2014.

LTMA changes are coming, but a few years away.

More noise from Wokkas there i bet Ridiculous; as far as I'm aware, TAG have no intention to extend the present hours of operation.(7am - 10pm weekdays, 8am - 8pm weekends and bank holidays)

The Lobbyists employed allegedly by TAG at Westminster certainly proved their worth.

more on this at UKGA TAG Farnborough airspace grab "dangerous" & "confusing" GA organisations, magazines and pilots have voiced concern about the extensive controlled airspace proposed by TAG Farnborough. The grab for CAS, which would block out uncontrolled airspace from the River Thames to the English Channel, has been criticised for the disruption and danger it will cause to GA pilots across a large area. Pilots are urged to comment on the proposals before the deadline for feedback on 2 May 2014. ukga.com/news/view?contentId=33050 LOADS OF COMMENTS

I'm always amazed when pilots treat Temporary Restricted airspace or class D controlled airspace as being prohibited to them. All they need to do is ask to transit on the notified frequency, maintain a listening watch on that frequency and comply with ATC instructions while in the airspace. OK glider pilots might not be able to comply with the latter, but even they are not being blocked from the airspace. Simples!

All they need to do is ask to transit on the notified frequency, maintain a listening watch on that frequency and comply with ATC instructions while in the airspace. OK glider pilots might not be able to comply with the latter, but even they are not being blocked from the airspace. Simples! It's not that us pilots see it as prohibited, what is difficult is actually gaining clearance to penetrate the Class D. LARS is overloaded and it can be very hard to get a word in to the controllers. With this therefore we have to circle and hold until we can actually gain clearance to enter. This costs time and money and does not impress locals below! Most of us GA pilots are doing it as a hobby, bureaucracy like Class D will turn our hobby into a chore. Class D most times requests transponder usage as well. Many microlights do not have this as well as gliders and there is no intention to use transponders. This would prevent most microlights and gliders from using the controlled airspace. The reason behind the lack of transponders with gliders is because Lasham can launch up to 100 gliders in the space of a couple of hours on a good soaring day. The amount of contacts LARS would receive would be so huge that it'd collapse and an incident would be likely due to controller workload. Flying under the base of controlled airspace is possible but makes cross country gliding very difficult in places as getting low and landing out would be inevitable. It would also lead to a bottleneck where collision risk is much higher. This sort of airspace has been imposed before during the Olympics of 2012. Because of this very little GA flew around the south. What is becoming apparent is that Lasham would become nonviable as pilots will move elsewhere and Lasham could close entirely with hundreds of jobs lost. The local flying area is saturated at times and the proposal would make it a harsh environment to learn to fly in, and winch cables to 3000ft AGL and powered aircraft do certainly not mix! The airspace plans are more extensive than even Gatwick's! That's saying something. Planesandthings
