Could be old news but I have only heard today, the swan inn at the end of 24 has been bought by the airport ! Anyone any ideas as to why (conspiracy theories or not ... Lol) as to why off airport buildings are being bought by the airfield operator ?

As i have already said to JEFF This given its History is not listed due to the fact very little of the original Building still Exists . It had a fine display of FAB Relics mainly Pictures but since the new owners took over and turned into a very pricey upmarket place i have not used it to check. it was the main pub for Show viewers i suppose it still is but not the locals that used it he barred all them From what i heard he was doing ok as a local music venue at weekends but XTRA Late night hours were rejected by planners.First i have heard about SALE But i have put Feelers out with local Boozers and Camra

no names but this comment from a friend
after initial concern it *appears* to be a positive move. Shame they couldn't have helped secure The Tumbledown too

The pub has been brought by tag aviation owners of the airport and is a free house!
Their is a 7 year agreement of the pub with Lawrence in charge and is a free of tie pub.
After 7th yr it's unsure what will happern?
Their is still a hotel above the pub

Good place to go if you want a lively Friday or Saturday night. One of the few pubs with free live music or a DJ. Can be a bit of a squeeze getting to the bar on a busy night.
