The days of the Bae 146 shuttle services at EGLF are coming to an end soon, the new aircraft, an EMB145 will be delivered to Warton around the 26th July where is will be fitted out and crew training will commence, this may do a few familiarisation flight into EGLF before finally taking over the 146 flights in early August.

Embraer 'head hunted' a great number of designers and engineers from Hatfield once production there had been wound down, re-lcated up north and then finally closed. It was members of the 146 team that went on to design and develop the Embraer range of jets. The RJX project probably would have made inroads into the 170/190, but as Bae reacted too slowly in making a fuel efficient twin engined 146, the project was finally binned!
I have two good friends that worked at Hatfield who now have fabulous lives out in Brazil thanks to Bae and Embraer. I will let them know about the 'new' aircraft on the Shuttle, certain to bring a smile too their faces! And to think, Great Britain was a leader in design and maunufacture of commercial and military aeroplanes!
Chinese aeronautical industry is and has been recruiting the top designers and builders.

Flight time reduced by 10 mins as well which is quite impressive on a 250 mile journey, although with half the amount of pax and very limited hold space I suppose that has to be expected

I've heard that the EMB145 will be taking over from 19th August - don't know the registration yet.

Sorry, 145, you were correct , the smaller Bae146 G TYPH will replace this when passenger demand dictates and the Emb will Operate the Munich flight instead
