Hi All,
Here are a selection of scanned slides from the 1994 SBAC show.
Not as nostalgic as Peter Brown's wonderful post but hopefully of some interest.
1994 I think was a classic year with a large contingent from the eastern bloc and a large number of new types not seen at a SBAC before.
Firstly some arrival week shots.
A HH60 Pavehawk being unloaded from a C5.
One of the many support IL76s.
Not a show aircraft but DRAs HS748 departing for Boscombe. I guess it never returned as this was the year the RAE was being wound down.
The SU35 taken from my house after it's validation. It semed a bit off course and listening to the tower it was... it ran off the end of the runway and got stuck in the mud!
Now some flying display shots from outside the airfield.
The BAe systems Hawk presentation 12xT1s the Hawk 100 & 200 demonstrators all marked with a flag of an export country.
DRA's Tornado GR1.
Atlas CSH2 Rooivalk.
Eurocopter Tiger.
TU204.
M55 Geofizika.
IL114.
IL114 & IL96.
IL96.
SU30.
Static Shots.
Rafale B.
IL76LL D27 engine test bed.
Bell 230 destined for the Chilean navy.
Sivel SD27.
IL103.
Norwegian AF F5B.
In one of the halls C.A.F CH146 Griffen.
Flying Display.
Each day started with a heat of that years Breitling Aerobatics Championship.
Cap 10.
US Navy F18C.
P38 Lightning which flew each day with the F16.
Atlas Ace.
Speedtwin.
C17.
PZL Iryda.
To end a couple of weekend shots again from outside the airfield.
Grumman Goose.
Anyone who went on the Saturday had to feel unlucky not 1 but 2 thunderstorms during the flying display.
A moody shot of an Airbus A321 & 330 with the Reds over the top after the second storm had cleared.
Hope you enjoy these.
Cheers
