Hello All,
Continuing with my trawl through my scanned slides this selection comes from the 1990 show.
I think the 1990s were the second "classic" era of SBAC shows, the first being the 50's.
1990 saw the start of the eastern bloc domination of both static and flying displays which made these 90s shows so interesting.
As usual I have tried to select a cross section of aircraft which perhaps are not the obvious choices.
I begin as always whith some arrival shots.
SU26 being unloaded from the AN225.
An almost ever present PC6 Turboporter.
Romanian Airlines support AN26.
Tay powered Dee Howard 1-11 conversion.
Some flying shots from outside the show.
The morning visit from a Skyship 600 airship.
The then latest 125 variant the BAe 125-1000.
In United Express livery G-MATP the ATP demonstrator.
Think this was a one day only fly-by, a Qantas 747-400.
Unusual display from 2 S76s. I think they flew from the Blackbushe each day.
The smallest Russian exhibit the Troika microlight that on some days lead the AN225 out onto the runway.
And of course the mighty Myria.
The static display this was the show Friday.
Beech Starship.
An RAE converted Jetstar which had cameras in the tail so the crew could see if they had a problem with an engine. This was developed in the wake of the Kegworth 737 crash where the crew shut down the wrong engine.
A Romanian glider IAR33 Acro.
A Gyroflug Speed Canard which is the LASS Demonstrator whatever that might have been!!
A BK117 don't see many of these these days.
The latest L39 variant the L39MS.
Hungarian MiG21 which arrived in a Hungarian AF AN26. If my memory serves me correctly it was donated to the RAF Museum.
A Lancair 235.
And finally the Friday flying display.
Concorde Arrives. Not part of the display this year as it bought in a party of children.
From Chile the ENAER Namcu.
An Argintina & Brazil collaboration the Embaer/FMA CBA123 Vector, don't think it caught on though.
CAF CF188 Hornet.
The Romanian AF IAR99 Soim, a lot of noise for such a small plane!
Argentine AF FMA63 Pampa.
And probably the star of the show 1 of the 2 Flankers this is the single seat SU27A.
Hope you enjoy these
Cheers for looking
