Hi All, Before the digital revolution I used to take 35mm transparencies, over the last few years I have scanned these. Although the quality is not as good as the original it is a convienent way of storing my slides. So here are a selection from 1995 to 2002 some of the early ones are very grainy but are included for interest. Nov 1995 When President Clinton came to town 1997 USAF transports 1998 and this was not a show visitor And my 1st biz jet movement photo leaving during SBAC 1998 arrivals week 1999 A6-HRS 1st visit without winglets 2000 Remember Chauffair? 2001 Channel Express operated AN72 The days before Felix!!! G-CORP 2002 Hecate moves to FAST Biz visitors during SBAC 2002 N200UP with colourful tail! Left in the southern compound after the show. I discover Eelmoor As I said quality not superb but I hope you find them interesting Cheers

Some brilliant memories there. G-CORP, ES-NOB and Chauffair especially.
I've not heard about the Presidential visit before, what happened? Obviously Clinton came to London but which aircraft visited Farnborough?

Hi If my memory serves me right Clinton came to the UK to do something with the Northern Ireland Good Friday Agreement. Why his entourage chose Farnborough to base themselves, I've no idea, as he was tucked away in the US Embassy. As Tony remarks it was fun though I think there were 3 VH3Ds, a couple of CH47s plus numerous cars which all arrived in C5As The choppers were doing continual circuits. I was probably risking it bit sneaking that picy through the fence, but as the choppers kept me up at night I thought it was the least they could let me do!!! The US seemed to like FAB for a few years hence the C141 pics, not the ones included but when Hilary Clinton attended Lady Diana's funeral in Aug 1999 her back up came in a C141. Memories eh! Cheers

I had a friend in the Royal Navy who was based at Farnborough during the presidential visit, he was connected with Merlins at the time and working on how to get a computer to last more than an hour whilst being shaken around in the then new Navy helicopter he got numerous flights and lots of Gizzets from the presidential helicopter crews ;D git ;D Other memories I have were of I believe two Russian Air Force (with the red star on the tail) AN124's, cant remember why they were here but it was outside the airshow season, the crews from these were to be found in Farnborough shopping centre quite a lot during their stay, they would take the queens pound for any badge or part of uniform you cared to want !! were never there when I was though....again gits

As far as I remember, only the 09 & 10 were visible on the aircraft but then I was viewing from the perimeter fence!

Obviously Clinton came to London but which aircraft visited Farnborough? Those were the days: I used to love seeing the AN72s on horse charters during such events as Royal Ascot. ES-NOB was the first one I saw at FAB and was, by far, the most common one for a while. Once or twice it was joined by ES-NOG. Others I've seen at Farnborough since are: ES-NOI, ES-NOK, YL-KSA, YL-KSB. The sight of these certainly made life more interesting! I also have ER-AVD & ER-AVE in my book, would I have seen these in FAB?
