Wonder where the inspiration for that front came from. An entrance between 2 bulges ? I had better stop there :-0

Hi,
I've just spent two nights at the Aviator Hotel, and have to say the rooms with a view of the airfield are superb. Pity about the early morning fog both days, but I managed to pick up a fair few numbers that I hadn't logged before.
Staff at the hotel are excellent and the rooms very comfortable.
Regards, Paul

Am I the only one to have realised the connection between the name of the hotel and the design of the building? The connection came to me when I saw the hotel from the back from IQ.
The back of the building shows that the centre section follows the shape of the roof, that is it is a circle - the front cuts in at the main door. If you looked at the building from above you would realise that it is the shape of a wristwatch
And the name of a watch for pilots ..... Aviator !!

Unfortunately MOST people will not see the building from above, but from the front, where as I have pointed out an entrance between two bulges is very suggestive and even the roof canopy is representative of a physical characteristic. Theres a name for someone who designs things like this, unfortunately its architect , not that that will give the rest of them a bad name, look at the 'gherkin' in the city, of course it doesnt look like a penis, any more than it looks like a gherkin. I just wish they would try designing buildings for people instead of monuments to their own egos. Solace comes when I look at the Natural History Museum. (but not the latest extension)
