Lasham 27/5/12 16:30-17:30 After spending the day before at Sywell, I took the family down to Bournemouth beach for the day. Stopped off at Lasham on the way home to catch up with the 737s and it was so busy with gliders that we stayed for dinner as well. 737s in brackets weren't read off by me but noting the colour schemes they were easily tied up using recent logs and photos. REQ: An old high-wing glider coded BPT – I’ve been unable to tie this up, only coming across a reference to BGA1132 which was stored at Bicester. What's the BGA number please? It is a Slingsby Capstan which has been under restoration and I have recently seen it flying at Lasham. I cannot remember the rules, but only 'modern' gliders require to be G- registered. No doubt others better informed on this subject will say more?

If flying was the language of man, soaring would be it's poetry.

Correct. Some are excempt from EASA/CAA ruling because of the age and complexity of the aircraft. Most Aircraft are EASA Aircraft so need Reg's. Older ones like the T21 Barge do not need it as they as they do not fit the criteria of EASA aircraft. Slingsby Capstan I have seen flying since March I think. I think we have quite a couple at Lasham. At least there is one in the main hanger. Planesandthings P.S You logged me in this post G-CFMH!

Ah I logged you quite early on so might've seen you flying? Very impressive seeing the gliders zoom low overhead then pull up and curl round to land.
Thanks Buster, BGA1132 is now confirmed and is indeed a Capstan. Glad to see rebuild complete and it's flying again.
