Well done! with thanks to raf-families-days.webs.com/

Latest info I can find is this: The Blades RAF Hawk Apache (TBC) Antonov An2 Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurrican 15:30 Grob Tutor Tucano OV-10 Bronco (s) Newcastle Jet Provost Sally-B (Land am, depart out of slot) RAF Merlin Sabre King Air Auster Club Fly-ins O'Briens Flying Circus FX, I notice the Reds are in Cornwall on the 10th, but they do have to be in Marham on the 11th. Cant you offer them a cup of tea on a late afternoon transit? (joking, I know its out of the question.)

Popping in to work tomorrow(not bad considering I am on my resettlement leave!), should have some more info, I will be handing the FD over by the middle of July. the reds will not do 2 different landing sites less than 5 hours apart, so there is no chance of seeing them. hopefully there will be a couple of surprise items which at this time cannot be revealed!

Paul, out of that list the A10s and Vixen are TBN, there may also be a couple of microlights. on the day I will probably be on the grass by the Dak in civvies sporting a beard!! Timings to follow. The only things not landing will be the BBMF and Apache.

Hi, Just want a answer, are the Red Arrows not flying at Odiham familes day? As Eelers said they are in the West Country, FDs are very low on the priority list and tend to lose out to large public events. Also if you look 5 threads above yours the answer is there.

its a famlies Day event, designed for families of the base to see what their other halves do while at work! therefore you cannot pay for entry on the day, there are however plenty of viewing vantage points around the perimeter of the airfield

Luc sorry no Vulcan (Shoreham and Bournemouth next appearance. Check it's website.) Re The Red Arrows .. a couple of years ago the Government and RAF said that they where to expensive and may have to end. So to keep flying, they started charging to appear .. this caused a few problems, it was 4 years ago that Lyme Regis Life Boat Week cancelled the Reds visit because as the RNLI is a charity, they could not spend or justify the +or- £10,000 even though the event is well attended by the public who give lots of dosh .. Luckily now local business and rich residents pay.

There are a number of good vantage points around the outside of the perimeter, if you have not been before, I suggest a look on Google Maps will assist with locating a good spot.

For those of you who are thinking of a trip there and finding a gap in the farmers hedge, I would advise an early arrival. I know fx hasnt confirmed the A10's as a definite, but the mere mention of them (this information is now firmly in the enthusiast domain) will probably get a very large crowd of aviation photographers and display fans descending on the area, and the parking is limited.

Ok thanks. Does anyone know about the plane this morning at half 9? Very Big and noisy! I would think it is a better idea to sit around the edge. I thought both red arrows and vulcan would be there but that would be the 1st time i have not seen either red arrows or vulcan at a airshow but at least the toranods will be there because they are really skill! Any more to be confirmed?

Luc You are obviously excited about the families day and I can understand that, but you must remember, it is NOT an "airshow" as you know it. The fact that you and I are able to watch, is just our good luck. The event is purely to show the families of the people who work at the base that the RAF appreciate them very much. They put on a display with some visiting aircraft as a big thank you. The Vulcan and Red Arrows are purely for public airshows and only come to the families days if they are specifically asked to (or in the case of the vulcan, paid to). I hope you are able to enjoy it while havng in the back of your mind that you are fortunate to have this event in your area. I wouldnt expect too much more if I was you, the list is already extremely exciting by the standards of other RAF airfield Families days!

Find a field, sit in it, get rather NOISY planes overhead (if you pick the right place). Best free display anywhere, well in Hampshire anyway!
Highlight last year was the Spitfire being given traffic information on the landing Afghan 737 at Lasham and his response!
Brilliant that they look after the families so well. When does that Chinook depart for Paris? Wonderful treat.
