Hi Guys, thanks for the info
I was just wondering if there is anything likely to fly in to a static display that we should look out for as well?

Access is limited to adjacent fields. Never been moved on so far, but you are at times right under the display!

Im inside and all I can say is the attending aircraft is not very much like the earlier list! Nice to see a Skyvan on the ground and the walk through Chinook is one of the new Fat Tanks. Another two are giving rides. There is a Dak here, I assume from the BBMF.

The AN-2 is currently up one end of the disused runway pointed at the crowd doing engine tests. This has worried a few I can assure you! Got to say, the Sabre was super earlier! Nice to have that one here. Very relaxed atmosphere inside. Got to say its absolutely brilliant for kids. Full marks to the base.

Well,
It won't go down as a classic, but it was certainly enjoyable out in the field. Tonkas were stunning, and the 'non-display' Hawk was surprisingly enjoyable as well; that last fast pass made all of our jaws drop!!!
Really missed the reds though...

James Mayl

Tonkas were stunning, and the 'non-display' Hawk was surprisingly enjoyable as well; that last fast pass made all of our jaws drop!!! Really missed the reds though... Regards, James Mayl It may not have been a classic, but it was the first time I have been invited in, and it was thoroughly enjoyable inside, without many of the peculiarities of the "standard" airshow - no ropes, fences, officious individuals, all the childrens rides were free, there was free food, and some great other activities going on. I was amused at hearing people inside complaining that someone booking the aircraft had "forgotten" to book the Red Arrows, as it made the unique way the event was run all the more endearing. Some really were unhappy though! For me I had my first jawdropping display moment since the first time I saw the Swift glider team display. The simplest of planes, a Piper Cub took off with a commentator suggesting the aircraft was not part of the display and a little out of control, the pilot proceeded to put on the most amazing display of stunt flying with some incredible manoeuvres, inches from the ground. Those in the field may have been unlucky and not been able to view this one, but it is definitely a display to look for in the future! Thanks to the RAF for a fabulous day!

Super camo tucano display and the bbmf held off for the 737 lasham arrival. Nice coordination and cooperation between Lasham and Odiham. Appreciation to all concerned.

Hi Paulv I watched from up on the hill at the Upton Grey end of the runway. I saw a similar feet performed by a pilot by the name of Brendon O'Brien with a Piper Cub some years ago at The Tiger Club Redhill Airshow. It was absolutely amazing and, if like me at the time I did think it was out of control until it registered. Well I remember that show 'cos Gary Numan was seated 2 or 3 away from me and watched just like one of the boys. Now I'm off to Shalford to watch the Black Five take water. - Dave

Did anyone get the reg of the cub. I saw an east bound yellow cub going along the 'Hogs Back' yesterday which even trailed smoke (ala the Yaks in a photo above) for a while (I'll assume it was intentional) Looked as though the reg might have ended in 'PT. I'll also guess it was ex Odiham.
