Seems to be a hive of activity today. Mainly Royal Navy. Various Lynxs (Lynxes? Lynxii?) And Sea Kings. Have seen a Navy Rescue coloured Sea King and a Black and white (SFOR?) Marked one. Any help with the latter or other visitors appreciated if appropriate. Thanks

Paul. Not a full list, but your rescue Sea King was ZA166 '16'; one Navy Lynx was coded '633' which should make it XZ239 of 702NAS; and ZH839 Merlin led a flight of three inbound at around 12.30. The Culdrose machines all seem to have left at around 16.30.

Afternoon Fellas, I had them on the radio calling 'Sampson Formation', they flew over east London over City up to the Mall across the Palace and then H3 back down to Odiham. The formation flypast consisted of 2 x Merlin's, 2 x Sea King's (one with a dustbin out), 2 x Lynx, 1 x Sea King and a final Lynx at the rear. All returned to Odiham apart from one Sea King (Navy 816) who broke away and went directly back to Culdrose. I couldn't read any off but my SBS picked up ZH839 which I think was the lead aircraft, ZA166 which I believe was Navy 816) and I had an earlier Merlin between 14.13-14.17 which was ZH134 but that's an RAF machine, I think. If anyone ID's the rest I'd appreciate the information. Cheers Bill

Thanks guys Hadnt realised there was a flypast on today. Seems connected with this All serving and former serving officers and all ranks of the Royal Naval Air Service and Fleet Air Arm, members of the Fleet Air Arm Associations and affiliated organisations and their families are invited to apply to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace by gracious permission of Her Majesty The Queen to celebrate the Royal Navy Centenary of Aviation.
