Using the ex Lyneham Tower frequency of 119.225. Heard resident Chippy G-BCCX on it today.

Used to use 122.1 c/s 'Odiham Base'. Wonder if the CAA have given permission.

Now that is a good question! I did a Google in-depth search and only found the frequency listed for Lyneham.

Have used this freq.for Odiham Tower for some time now.I think 122.1 is a 'common' tower VHF,but no longer used at Odiham.

Any re-assignment of a frequency to another unit must have an assessment of the DOC (Designated Operational Coverage) to ensure its use will not interfere with other users of the same frequency. This is why the use of 123.45 is frowned upon as some airfields on the continent use it.

NATS had to import frequencies from Switzerland for the duration of the Olympics, such is the rarity of available frequencies.

Brize Radar VHF frequency changed about 6 years ago as although the original frequency (134.3? Can't remember now) had been assigned to MOD, it had not been cleared for use at Brize.
