Nothing heard on 126.650 this evening.
I thought I heard a tell tale 737-200 on departure this morning, but with all the unusual traffic around, I might be wrong?

Cheers Alan

Anyone at Lasham today must have had a brilliant view of the Farnborough B1-B as it departed westward at just after 15:30?

Looks like it did an airtest at 1510 then departed to somewhere in darkest Africa at 1635. Cheers Alan But it only got as far as Deauville where it had to make another "emergency landing". Should have departed at 0900 UK time this morning and is hopefully in Algeria now being refuelled - or at least outside European airspace.

Reference 5U-BAG, the reason for all the "emergency landings" is that the aircraft is subject to Stage 2 noise restrictions and therefore requires a special permit to fly. Once airborne if it wants to land back again for any reason it has to declare an emergency or it is denied permission to land.
When it diverted into Farnborough from Southampton part of the problem was that it had not signified any intention to return to Lasham and as a result there was no air traffic controller on duty.
I am pleased to say that it is now safely back in Niamey and fully serviceable.

Dunno where those estimates came from Malc but the estimates bandied about for the AN124 at Farnborough were very inaccurate - Flytecomm was over 30mins out. We watched SBS until it appeared, passing FL180, and hot-footed it to Eelmoor!
