What occurred to me whilst watching and waiting for the arrival of the A300 is the number staff dedicated to securing and retaining the runway prior to a movement. I guess those involved also multi task for ATC or are the majority of the fire service personnel 'on call'?
I can certainly see the need for SBS-1 advanced warning of impending arrivals, just to keep the landlord happy.

This was the final position of the flight today before my set up lost the transmission. I noticed that my co-ordinates for EGHL appear wrong. These I loaded from a third party as 51.18667,-1.03194 when I think they should be 51.11138,-1.02006. I have changed my "waypoints" file to reflect the new co-ordinates. See how this goes.

The co-ords from the third party are right; yours are wrong. You can easily check using any of the on-line mapping programmes and Google Earth. Your co-ords are for somewhere way southwest of Alton, near Four Marks!!

Something departed this afternoon, but in so much as the sky was clear blue yesterday, it was dank and gloomy today!
Never mind it will be Christmas soon!
