4 x Sea Kings in formation to the north of Popham today heard on the ATC. Said they were for Odiham. Shortly before they called up, another Sea King in Yellow rescue scheme was seen heading east bound (probably following M3) just south of Popham. Don't know if this was anything to do with the fly past or not.

Did they come back to Odiham for refuelling as there seemed to be very large gaps in the times of the formations as they headed west over/to the south of Basingstoke?

Thanks FX, wasn't a problem, caught them on the way back ;D
They all appeared over Church Crookham at 17.35, quite low and descending in the same order as they appeared on BBC1 for the flypast, would assum they refueled as tey had been airbourne for a couple of hours by then

well, my luck was not in. I have been on holiday for two weeks and got home at 4.30!
From the garden it appeared all returned to Odiham for at least a fly by. Sea Kings flew west straight off, followed by 3 Merlins going north. All these were still flying line abreast. Nothing then appeared for about an hour so presume the others all had a cup of tea for a while. Then 8 Lynx took off. They headed west but interestingly having gone up line abreats they then fanned out on a large break and went seperate ways! Last to go (from my viewpoint in N Warnborough anyway) was two Apache, heading West at about 18:45.

Just going back to the deaprtures yesterday, three Seakings came over Basingstoke in fairly close V formation and the RAF Sea King HAR3 could be seen heading towrads the South. Various formations of choppers could then be heard heading west following the M3/A303 but were below the level of trees near my house. The navy Lynx came over later in a large diamond formation followed later by the two Apache going low level.
