if there is likely to be an open day this year? Really enjoyed the last one I went to, but would understand if its not something they wish to entertain anymore.

I have seen nothing in writing from the gliding folk. The new hangar on the SE side opens later this year, not to sure if the Vintage Gliding Club have anything planned apart from the international rally?

I thought ATC had announced that they wouldn't be holding any more Open Days as they had become too popular! The costs of providing safety and security for the event had just become too high. I believe the Open Days were originally intended just for local inhabitants - the wonders of the Internet meant we all learnt about them and went! A shame as they were great little shows with the chance to see behind the scenes in the ATC hangars.

Poor weather also caused problems. The last one held, the cloud base was about 100ft in moderate rain. I was spared Malcolm playing his banjo!
