Afternoon Chaps,
Just wanted to let everyone know that the National Gliding Championship is on at the moment and there is a huge number of gliders participating.
We (tcr/barty) spent three hours there this morning and I personally logged about 100.... Which for a Lasham visit is extraordinary. All but a handful were gliders....
If anyone wants a copy of the list - ask tcr - he seems to have a lot of time on his hands!! ;D
Near to the organisers office (past the cafe, and to the left of the small climbing frame) there is a gentlemen who, for a £5 donation towards the National Gliding Museum, will run you along the flight line in a golf buggy - we were able to read off almost all of the gliders which were out from under their covers. Well worth it.... But please do not try and ignore the signs and walk out onto the airfield - they ejected two guys, who ignored all the signs and then didn't give up without a verbal struggle, who could have spoiled it for us and a lot of other enthusiasts....
When in doubt - ASK....
Cheers lads.
Bill

Just a snippet to add to Bill's comments. The frustrating part of the 2 guys being 'removed', was they were not even spotters, but 'just wanting photographs', they also gave the perfectly reasonable gliding club guy a hard time, saying they didn't see the no entry e.t.c. signs, the guy then offered to run them along in the buggy & they refused to give him the £5. Meanwhile have fun Terry
