Couldn't see if anyone had posted a picture, sorry if this duplicates but felt as so much effort went into the statue it deserved a viewing on the forum.

Pity they couldn't retrieve the 'tree' too. It was 'pinched' from it's original position near 'K' Shed (the remaining 'Black Shed') by DERA and sited (so they claim) near the place where he died which is nowadays inside the Qinetiq site where the general public can't get to it, but it would be much better suited if it was either in or close by the museum. OK it's not the original tree but a bronze replica, but you get my meaning don't you? It's the principle of the thing; it was used for 'strain gauge' tests to check the thrust from his propellor before his first flight from what is now the car park of the hotel so it deserves to be somewhere the general public can see it.
