Beside the Surrey Police helicopter building at Odiham is the tail of a Mig 21. The c/n stencilled on it is 516999103 which would be correct for a Mig 21U but its not one that I can immediately trace. Anyone know where it came from, why, and where the rest of it is?

Everytime I go to Odiham this tail is in a different place!! evidently it was bought back from Gulf War 1 so would assume its Iraqi, there are also numerous gun carriges bought back from there as well, I forgot to photograph them though And the con number

I took identical photographs to ask the same question! However, my question was could it be a Sukhoi SU-22 Fitter? I know the yanks shot some of them down at the end of the war.

Looks to be a Mig-21SM Tail Ex Afghan may be , however the roundel is interesting not the faded star , possible Red star over white background, green red black border seen on some aircraft having fled away to Pakistan when the Russians decided to take on the Mujahideen back in the day. The width of the stripes, the size of the red star, and even the order of the stripes may vary a lot, according to the aircraft which fled
