BBC WEBSITE Says all plod and AIR AMB were grounded but there were AAC Choppers through FAB Zone Afternoon . and rule is emergency flights are Allowed . so its puzzling that the Emergency services were grounded but i have not seen PLOD36 Off odiham today or heard it ?
A Chinook flew to the north of the holy city of Winchester this afternoon. We have also had a business jet & propeller driven aircraft over this afternoon both going into Southampton. Another helicopter flew west to east, this morning, using same area as the Chinook above. It was impossible to say whether it was military or private, but looked as though it could be the latter.
Your time of 10.45 hrs would be about right for the jet. However the twin engine propeller aircraft I saw, flew over at I'd guess, 16.30-17.00 hrs as I was coming in for an early tea. Because it was using the northern approach, often used by inbound Southampton flights, (& was fairly low), I assumed it was inbound Southampton. I suppose it could have just been passing through the area at that low altitude.
There's loads of GA flying all over the place throughout the UK. Hleimeds and Police were not affected, by the restrictions. A lot of GA are trying to do flyby's at LHR today, although APP won't let them, but the hely lanes are open and they can fly over LCY.
FAB very busy on 125.25, 123.225, 132.8, as well as lots of gliders up. ODM gliding on 122.1 and Lasham on 131.025
