Good quality inexpensive food that would put a lot of pubs to shame. Get there early, the only negative side is the wait, which can be rather long. My recommendation to get your food served inside 30 minutes is to arrive by 12:00. The Departure Lounge Café on the outskirts of Alton also serves excellent food and if the 1-11 is open, you can pretend to be a captain! The restaurant at the gliding club also serves up lunch, but that is more limited in variety, but you get a great view of the runway, talkdownman probably can tell you more about the food there?

Whilst I was at work today, Mrs Buster & Busterette visited the Gliding Club at lunch time. They were rather impressed at the quality of the sarnies (freshly made), the short wait for food and the inexpensive price.
My advice, take Mrs Tony to the Garden Centre then drive 1/2 mile to the Gliding Club and have your lunch there.
With a bit of luck it will have finished raining by then!
By the way, the restaurant welcomes non members (I think that this service is franchised out)?
