Noted a B727 with a red tail on the 20/9/2015, but was unable identify it, anyone assist, is there an up to date list of airliners around the field ?, was visiting the Gliding Heritage Centre and only read off the following VP-CMO, VP-CZY, N727EL, N871TM and [5U-BAG]

So sad, a large local employer potentially closing down. Let us all hope that a buyer is found quickly and the proud history of Lasham is continued and, indeed, improved.

Hi all. Heard the news, very sad regarding ATC, lets hope they find another company to come in and take over the work. Quick question are there any 757's currently at Lasham??.Also if there are, are they in a position to be photographed??

I know that some of the staff there are contributors here. Can I wish them all good luck for the future. Life will not be the same hanging out the Velux and taking brilliant photos of the arrivals!

Very sad news. Hope the displaced staff find new jobs soon. Not many other MROs in the UK. Ironic that Transaero situation may thrown a lifeline to the company albeit briefly. This summer has certainly been very quiet for end of lease and painting business as I have witnessed for myself up in Norwich. Possibly KLM Engineering may benefit but I would rather a buyer for the business be found for the livelihood of the staff involved. Good luck to them.

I sat at home and before I heard the news, that there would be a good probability of taking Transaero airframes for sale.
Hopefully the business can be regenerated as I am not too sure there is another MRO with Boeing 727 capability in Europe?
Three years ago ATC Lasham turned over £50m with good profit, so sad to see the decline.
Hopefully Phil, you will find work soon and best of luck for the future.

Seems to me it now only leaves Cardiff Aviation at St. Athan and KLM UK Engineering at Norwich as MROs in this market in the UK until a buyer of all or part can be found.

Wow and exactly 3 years ago!
Cannot be good news for 2Excel, no Boeing 727 MRO close by and two airframes stranded at Lasham. I guess the temptation would be to set up a maintenance unit at Doncaster and that would take some time to gain approval. Any take over of the ATC business, I am sure that they would be involved with and no doubt the DHL contract is now 'up for grabs'.
