OK Here is the info
POSTED ON EMAIL LIST
The local "perimeter" road which runs from eelmmor canal bridge at the west end of the airfield, through the Golf Course to the Aerospace Business Park/Eastern end appears to have been permanently closed to through traffic from today. Drop posts, have been concreted in to the road- between the AAIB and Golf Course, which would need a key for (emergency) access. Therefore, the only way now by car to get between the eastern & western ends of the Airport is via the main roads.

I think the MOD own the road, and Landmarc do their maintenance. Perhaps they feel that closing the road to through traffic will pose fewer issues for their marching exercises up and down its length from the nearby barracks. At peak times, the traffic using the road as a shortcut to the BAe site was fairly significant. Indeed, it should cut down on the hazard posed when of pulling out of the parking areas close to the bridge. Admittedly, it'll be a bit of a ball-ache having to use the main roads, particularly during the rush hour.
