My Father overnighted at Odiham during the 61 show week, while serving in the RAF. Sadly, I've never seen any photographic evidence of his visit, although he did take shots of some Victors at Wittering en-route. He was very sparing with film, back in the day.

Odiham was active with airshow support aircraft right up until the 90's

I am not too sure if long term logs are kept? At Luton, I found the ATC watch log, this was not a movement register, covering the day to day operation for when I was born. An Auster diverted in due snow at Panshanger, and two diverted out to Elstree. They were kept in a store within the tower and disposed of years ago. I always wish that I had removed that log for posterity. January 1963. The movement logs during the 1980's and 90's were hand written and passed on to the Town Hall/ Airport Operator for billing purposes.
I have a few copies of Anglia Aero News from the 1960's with many movements logs posted by spotters and enthusiasts. Fascinating reading.

Back then both Odiham & Northolt hosted significant numbers of Farnborough show visitors who were then helicoptered by the RAF to the show. Back in the 60s and into the 70s Odiham would generously open the gates after the last arrival and allow enthusiasts onto the ramps. One example below of a French AF DC6 which I took there on such an occasion on 3 September 1974 (note that the steps were borrowed from Brize). I have a number of notes of visitors from the mid sixties on if anyone wants anything specific. To show the sort of numbers, here's my own log from 18 September 1968 - C2 F27M Dutch AF 28 & 43 Nord 262 French Navy 502 Breguet Sahara French AF 18 Bretagne French AF KX2 DC4 Belgian AF KY3 DC6 Belgian AF 10685 T39A HQ 17 AF 455 C47 Canadian AF British military were a Gnat, Hiunter, JP, Argosy, 3x Varsity, Chipmunk, Valetta, Pembroke, Basset, 230 SQ Whirlwind HAR10, 6x Sea Prince, 2x Sea Devon, Sea Heron, Hastings plus 21 civil visitors including a British Eagle Britannia. Northolt on the same day saw C47s from the Finnish AF, Swedish AF(x2),& Danish AF, plus an Italian AF PD808 & DC6, USAF C118(x3) C54(x2) T29B & 2 VC131s. Good days.

Seem to recall the new Harrier GR1s from No 1 Sq.Wittering being based there for the Farnborough week flying from the now disused runway, Yes good days Dave. Do remember being let in airfield one year to look at visiting aircraft. The gate on the SW side Where the Vigilant hangar is today and walking along the Southern taxiway where some visitors were parked, believe they gave us about 1 hour to view everything. MB

I too went to some of the Odiham photo opportunities during Farnborough weeks. Below is a log for one of the days in 1968. I'd forgotten how many civil visitors there were - you'd have thought they'd have gone to Blackbushe! I'll try to post some other logs and photos.
