Noted on a spotting trip to Lasham 3.3.1958 were the following; At Airworks Hangar (see note later) G-AJJF Dove Iraq Petroleum ST-AAG DC3 Sudan Airways ST-AAM DC3 ....----.... VX234 Hermes trooping serial VX229 Marathon for spares At Dan Airs Hangar Where B737's etc are now; G-ANTK York Dan Air G-ANXN York ...--... G-AMUV York ...--... G-AMSU DC3 ...--... Others present; G-ALAI Messenger G-AOFR Tiger Moth, glider tug? G-ABTC Comper Swift G-AFGI Chilton DW1 Airworks hangar was on the north side of the airfield and to reach it aircraft were taxyed down what is now the main entrance to the glider club across the road then via a concrete taxyway through a ploughed field. This area was later to become a scrap yard with dozens of aircraft, mainly Sabres and CF100's as I recall. We had no problem entering and used to go around the aircraft collecting the c/n plates! Still have a couple somewhere I think! Best regards, Stuart Marshall
