Come on own up!!! Who went, just in case those with their ear to the ground were wrong....I did (got it wrong last weekend, about the Spit display at Blackbushe, so taking no chances this time.)
Had a good day out...found a nice spot, away from the usual lay by, on a hot sunny English summers day, sat in a farmers field under the shade of a British oak tree, with plenty of cool drinks and goodies to eat. Meet a couple of like minded watchers, a photographer and a family out for the day...Great. What about the flying...shame no Connie, shame no Reds, the Blades were good, those heliboys can throw those Chinooks around...but the highlight for me the BBMF Lanc/Spit/Huri not their normal good display but sat in a field of golden corn in the Hampshire countryside, away from the 21st century, with them sweeping low over head and the only sound, that of those Merlin's (think the Spit was a Griffon)...could have been back in the 40s....seems like Heaven to me.
So I had a memorable day.

I have an incomplete list of light aircraft that arrived. If I get chance I will post tomorrow.
Shame the cut backs have meant such a poor overall air display.

Does anyone know which 2 Lynx did the demo, and which Chinook did the display? Thanks The Lynx were probably ZF537 and XZ608. I was also unable to identify the Chinook which was used for the solo display so I'd also appreciate confirmation of its identity. In addition, can anyone identify the Merlin and Apache please ? I also understand that there was a Hawk and Griffin on static display and even though I didnt see them, I would be interested to know which ones they were. Anyone know why the Swordfish LS326 called in to "drop off a crew member" en route to Duxford ? or the circumstances surrounding the closure of the runway for debris removal ( I got the impression it was to do with the deployment of the parachute by the Gnat when it arrived) ? Finally, I've just tried to add a list of post show movements to this post but the formatting went pear shape and I've had to retype the above. Will try again during the next couple of days, in the meantime, look forward to seeing any information re the above and Buster The Bears list.

I "attended", as I have done for the past 30 years or so. Arrived around 11.00.BST and was astounded to find only 5 other cars in the layby on "Southside". Yes, I WAS aware that Breitling Connie was likely to be a "no show", but nevertheless I was amazed at the lack of spectators, given the publicity about the Connie.
Plenty of civilian light aircraft arrivals prior to 13.00.BST (I can't recognise some of these new-fangled machines!). "Buster" and others will no doubt provide further details in due course. Having "set up shop" beneath the aforementioned English Oak trees my colleague and I enjoyed a superb picnic lunch just before BBMF gave a spirited display.
No "Reds" fly-through, but the sight of Swordfish sat at 09 holding point for what seemed "ages" was intriguing. Apparently, LS326 had diverted-in en-route to Duxford (NOT tech-related)and then had to wait for a slot for Duxford arrival.
For those interested in Raptors, we had "flyby"s by Buzzards, Kestrels, Red Kites, and of course, MERLINS.
Highlights for me were undoubtedly the Chinook Display lads, and the Gnat...such a graceful aircraft.
This event was not exactly "action packed" from the spotters' point-of-view, but we must recognise that this is a Station Families Day, and I would imagine that the view from the "inside" would have been quite spectacular.
All in all, a very enjoyable day with no crowds, just a few like-minded enthusiasts who sat around chatting long after the flying programme had ended. Thanks should be conveyed to the farmer, who allows us each year to encroach on his land; thankfully there was no damage to crops...and no litter problem, to the best of our knowledge.

Sorry it doesnt seem I can help with the others, I'm not really a numbers man so only took the display items numbers to go with my shots! The Griffin, Merlin and Apache were nicely placed but not once did I note the numbers. As for the Hawk, I went to look at the static before the display and everything was parked behind a red tape about 200 metres away! The hawk was behind an Auster and unless you squinted you wouldnt have spotted it! The Gnat was the closest, XS111 if you needed it. Incidentally, the programme had the reds display flypast listed and the no show caused some consternation among those who only go to these things because their names are on the list. The Gnat displayed despite not being a flying item, so I think they may have asked him at the last minute. Which of course led to cries of "oh look the red arrows... whys there only one though?" For those that saw it, the chinook role demo was outstanding. Absolutely fantastic.
