there were other occurrences we never got to find out why they appeared . Every year up to about 5 years ago you will remember : The Arrival Of a Nimrod stayed a few hours and was always followed next Day by a USN Orian stayed a few hours then belted off . those days things were far better as South 1 was in Use with Rampside Views : cant find the log book at moment for those reading this SOUTH 1 was spoilt by Idiot parking Ruining the BAE Gardeners Flower beds and belting up and down not Signing in and out an arrangement made by the FAB GROUP Not another Civil list as they tried to Claim

Popham based PA-22 G-ARCC on 20/6/01. It was great to see that among all those Falcons, Gulfstreams & B737 Biz jets! Of course this aircraft was sadly lost last summer but thankfully those on board survived the incident.

I remember the Argentine L-188. I hung around for ages waiting for it to come in and went home because of the fog. Then it came over Basingstoke...

Back in March 1984 a heavylift Belfast (G-BFYU ??) came in and dropped of A Seaking (ZB507) that it had brought back from Norway. I know 'cos I was on it!!! Also a C-5 came in bringing the Bell XV-15 experimental tiltrotor aircraft for the Paris airshow, during my apprenticship (1978-82) So it's either 1979 or 1981. They were the bigest ones during my time.
